International Conference on Solution Focused Practices – 2016 (ICSFP2016)

International Conference on Solution Focused Practices – 2016 (ICSFP2016) was held to frame companionship among the experts in the eld of Solution Focused Practices. ICSFP 2016 was held as three phases as, Pre- conference, Conference and Post conference. Pre-conference workshops were held at Bangalore from 19 December, 2016 to 20 December, 2016 and one session held at Calicut university on 21 December, 2016. International conference was from 22 December, 2016 to 24 December, 2016. Post conference was held at university of Calicut on 24 December, 2016.

ICSFP2016 was held to frame companionship among the experts in the field of Solution Focused Practices. It was held as three phases. Pre – conference, Conference and Post conference. Mr. Peter Sundman handled the Pre-conference workshop at NIMHANS Bangalore from 19 – 20 December, 2016, and Mr. Arnoud Huibers handled The Pre-conference workshop at University of Calicut on 21 December, 2016. The session delivered Level-1 training in Solution Focused Practices. The post conference held on 24 December, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm at University of Calicut.

Delegates in the conference represented from different parts of the globe; Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Korea, Malaysia, Australia and different states of India; Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh etc. and the host, Kerala. There were 402 participants (including volunteers) in the conference.

The conference was inaugurated on 22 December, 2016 by the honorable Vice Chancellor of University of Calicut, Dr. K Mohammed Basheer. The inaugural ceremony opened with welcome speech by Organizing Secretary Jaseem Koorankot and it was blessed with the presence of various other honorable personalities such as Dr. K Sekar, Registrar, NIMHANS, Dr. K Krishnakumar, Director, IMHANS, Prof. Manikandan, Head, Dept of Psychology, University of Calicut, pioneers of SFBT; Dr. Peter Sundman, Dr. Arnoud Huibers, Ieta Burguis, Lamie Lamberts, along with Raheemudheen, Joint Director, CDMRP and Baijesh, Assistant Professor, Central University of Karnataka.

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE IN BRIEF PSYCHOTHERAPIES – 2017 (ITCBP2017)

International Training Conference in Brief psychotherapies 2017 (ITCBP2017) is a beginning and a way to future to frame companionship among the experts in the field of Brief Therapy Practices especially on Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Though the journey started on 20th December 2017, preparations started far before, with a sense of “miles to go…” as Frost said. Delegates in the conference represented different parts of the globe.

The conference started with the presidential address by Dr. P Krishnakumar and The ceremony was honored by the presence of honorable Vice Chancellor of University of Calicut, Dr. K Mohammed Basheer; Dr. VR Rajendran, Prof. EP Embichi Koya, Dr. Santhosh KR, President, ASFP-I, Dr. Abdul Salam, Head Department of Clinical Psychology, IMHAN; Pioneers of SFBT, Dr. Michael Durrant, Dr. Arnoud Huibers,    Dr. Frances Huber, Dr. Ben Furman. After inaugural ceremony, we proceeded to different workshops. There were 5 keynotes and 21 workshops spread over last three days. We had people from 9 different countries and from different states of India.

This has been wonderful get together of the like minds, and we shared our thoughts and experience through addresses, workshops and scientific papers. I am confident; Solution-Focused Practices have a huge scope in India. Now it is just in its inception. More expeditions have to be made in different fields, not only in clinical practice but in industry, education, community, coaching, supervision, and research.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOLUTION FOCUSED PRACTICES – 2018 (ICSFP2018)

The International Conference on Solution Focused Practices-2018 was held from 12.12.2018 to 13.12.2018 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The conference is jointly organized by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Association for Solution Focused Practice-India (ASFP-I) and Composite Regional Centre – Kozhikode. Delegates in the conference represented different parts of the globe; Netherlands, Finland, Germany, England, USA and different states of India; Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, UP, Odisha, Gujarath etc. and the host, Karnataka.

The conference was officially inaugurated by the honourable Vice Chancellor, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Dr. Thomas C Mathew. The conference was honoured by the presence of various other honourable personalities such as Dr Tony Sam George, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Dr. Abdul Salam, HOD, Dept of Psychology, Dr. Jaseem Koorankot, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, IMHANS, Kozhikode, Dr. Arnoud Huibers, and Dr.Santhosh K R, Assistant Professor CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE IN BRIEF PSYCHOTHERAPIES – 2019(ITCBP2019)

The International Training Conference on Brief Psychotherapies 2019 (ITCBP2019) & the Annual Meet of Association for Solution Focused Practices – India (ASFP-I) was the second international event held on Brief Psychotherapy at IMHANS and the fourth international annual meet of ASFP-I. It was held in 3 phases: Pre-Conference, Conference, and Post Conference. It was conducted from IMHANS, Kozhikode on 11th to 17th of December, 2019

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE IN BRIEF PSYCHOTHERAPIES – 2023(ITCBP2023)

The Association for Solution Focused Practices-India (ASFP-I),in collaboration with the Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (IMHANS), Kozhikode,  hosted the 7th International Training Conference on Brief Psychotherapy (ITCBP2023). The 7th The International Training Conference on Brief Psychotherapy (ITCBP2023) took place from January 18th to 21st, with a two-day pre-conference and a two-day main conference. The first day of the pre-conference (January 18, 2023) featured two workshops, and the second day (January 19, 2023) saw three concurrent workshops. Mrs. Veena George, the honorable minister, inaugurated the conference with a grand opening ceremony on January 20, 2023. The conference featured three keynote sessions and over 25 paper presentations. Throughout the conference, a total of 27 workshops were conducted, including sessions lasting 90 and 180 minutes. These sessions were led by both national and international delegates serving as resource persons.
